How the founder of IGNANT chose our FARO bed for his own home
Clemens Poloczek chose our FARO BED for his own bedroom and photographed it there himself. For us that is more than a beautiful image. Clemens is the founder of IGNANT, one of the most influential online magazines for art, design and photography, and today a sought after interior and portrait photographer based in Berlin. He works for brands such as Hermès and Porsche.
Who Clemens Poloczek is
With IGNANT, Clemens built one of the most formative German design magazines online more than a decade ago, recognised among other things with a nomination for the Grimme Online Award. Over the years he deliberately slimmed the magazine down, away from growth for its own sake and towards what actually mattered to him: quality over quantity, a point of view over the algorithm. Today he photographs himself, mostly interiors and portraits, with a trained eye for what really counts in a space. We have kept finding our way back to each other since 2015, professionally and in Berlin, our shared home.
Why the relationship with IGNANT matters to us
For years IGNANT has stood for exactly the intersection we place ourselves in: design, art, architecture and photography, curated with a clear, unhurried eye. When someone like Clemens chooses one of our objects privately, with no campaign and no collaboration behind it, that is one of the most honest forms of recognition we know.
About the FARO bed
The proportions of the FARO BED follow the golden ratio, the principle from painting and architecture that has stood for harmony and balance for centuries. The low overall height is no coincidence but a central design element. It creates a feeling of openness and grounding at the same time, especially in smaller rooms, and makes FARO an ideal, calm family bed, close to the floor without losing any presence. The velvet sanded solid wood is warm under your hand, and the frame looks almost floating from the side while remaining visibly connected to the floor. At the foot end, a small surface holds the things you want within reach in the evening: a book, a memory, slippers for cooler nights.
Like all of our objects, FARO is made by hand, with the same care Clemens looks for in his own work: reduced, honest, without unnecessary noise.
