A new chapter for a classic Berlin Altbau
How TAKK Studio retold a Charlottenburg period apartment with the SANDER SOFA in fir green
In Charlottenburg, TAKK Studio has written a new chapter for a classic Berlin period apartment. Soft tones, precise built in joinery and a restrained material palette create an open frame for antique pieces and contemporary design. In the middle of it, our SANDER SOFA in Vidar by Raf Simons x Kvadrat, colour fir green.

Who is behind TAKK Studio
TAKK Studio is led by Agi Kuczynska, an interior architect with stations in Stockholm, Milan and Warsaw before she moved her studio to Berlin a few years ago. Her training took her from architecture and urban design at the Warsaw University of Technology to architecture and industrial design at the Politecnico di Milano. Her work has been published in AD Italia, Elle Deco, Dezeen and ArchDaily, among others, a sign of how international her signature has become.
The project: an Altbau in dialogue with the present
Instead of writing over the character of the old building, TAKK Studio works with it deliberately. Precisely placed built in elements and a reduced material language create a calm frame in which antique pieces and contemporary design can sit side by side without contradiction. The living area is not only intended for lingering, but equally for working and for doing nothing on purpose, a space that adapts to the different rhythms of a day instead of prescribing one use.
SANDER in fir green
Our SANDER SOFA settles naturally into that balance. Upholstered in Vidar by Raf Simons x Kvadrat in fir green, a fabric that itself sits at the intersection of fashion and textile design, SANDER becomes the quiet but present anchor of the room. Its organic form finds a welcome counterpoint in the clear, typically Altbau architecture, warm and soft without ever getting loud. It shows once again how well SANDER fits into very different spatial concepts, from restrained and earthy to, as here, a deep, saturated green. SANDER meets the highest aesthetic standards and still invites the whole family to sit down and relax in the living room. That is the charm and the character of SANDER. Individual fabrics and colours can always be sourced through us, however special you want to go. We got you.
