It became the center of the Roundtable Talks “Towards a Symposium”, a format dedicated to open dialogue and shared reflection. We see design as a cultural practice, as a way to connect, to question, and to imagine community. In this sense, the HENN SOFA was not simply part of an exhibition but a living system of form, material, and encounter. It represents what drives us: design as an active discourse. The biennale took place at San Gimignano Lichtenberg, a site that embodies architectural transformation. The former silo, now a center for production and exchange, became a resonant space for new forms of togetherness. Between concrete, steel, and conversation, a place emerged where ideas were not presented but shared. For us, this colaboration is more than a project. It mirrors our understanding of design as part of a larger cultural context. OUT is not a silent observer but part of a movement that views design as a medium for communication. The Conceptual Biennale Berlin offered the perfect context for this experiment, showing how design can act today: as language, as attitude, as encounter. Berlin is the place where such ideas take shape. “The design of the HENN SOFA begins with a fundamental human need: comfort and security. I wanted the HENN SOFA to embody this feeling both visually and through touch in every detail. The quilted and softly padded slipcovers evoke the lightness of a down duvet, relaxed and silky. The structure invites interpretation on many levels. It reflects the principle of nest-building, a place that offers protection yet leaves room for new beginnings. A retreat to recharge, gather strength, and prepare for what lies ahead.

The inspiration for the design comes from the rhythmic patterns of nature and the clear structures of architecture. The symmetrical quilting recalls aerial views of fields, gentle ripples on water, or the grid of a blueprint, harmony between order and poetry. This precision creates a meditative calm that guides the eye and gives structure to the space. Yet every sense of order lives from small irregularities. The slightly offset backrest and the intentionally lively design of the HENN cushions break the strict geometry. This tension between structure and freedom defines HENN.

HENN is a system. Its modular elements invite you to rethink and reshape your space, almost like a game of Tetris. HENN allows not only for functional adjustments but also for a playful engagement with your surroundings.
